The Sterling Fair is working towards being an inclusive fair for everyone.

Terrain

  • The terrain is partly paved and partly packed earth/grass.  We hold our Fair at the Sterling Airport, which is an active airport (except during the Fair 😊).  The packed earth/grass areas are where gliders land, so it is very flat and even.
  • All of the fairgrounds are very suitable for walkers and wheelchairs.

Mobility

  • We do not provide or rent wheelchairs or scooters.  However, we do have a team of volunteers that have 4-passenger golf carts specifically to give rides to folks with accessibility needs.  These volunteers will give rides to any part of the Fair and bring folks back to the main entrance or even right to their cars.

Parking

  • We have lots of handicapped and accessibility-friendly parking near our main entrance with a special accessibility-friendly gate.

The Sterling Senior Center will not be providing van transportation this year (2023).

Signage on lower level of bleacher seats and some picnic tables will encourage priority seating for those less able to stand.

…and the best part is that the Sterling Fair is still free admission and free parking to all!
